Starlight Shoot - September 2005

This year we decided to resurrect the starlight shoot as a fun evening for the end of the outdoor season. Consequently on Friday 30 September a number of us gathered at the field to start shooting just as it was going dark. We set out 10 targets at 30m and illuminated them with a couple of floodlights powered by the trusty generator. With 3 or 4 to a target, including a good number of our juniors, we then shot and scored 3 dozen arrows and spent a certain amount of time hunting in the dark for lost ones (arrows that is, not archers). At the end of the round, scores were added up and winners names were posted on the board. By this time Pete and Brian had the barbeque going and the rest of the evening was spent socialising over hot burgers and charred sausages. Perhaps we'll do it again next year?

A panorama of the targets (remind me to use my tripod next time) Torches were definitely useful Pulling is easier than shooting in the dark Hey, look at these Where did you say it landed? I can't see if I've scored yours correctly Who pinched my sausage?
