Starlight Shoot - September 2007
Once again we rounded off the outdoor season with the starlight shoot and barbeque and just like last year we were blessed with less than perfect weather. There had been several downpours during the day, but just over twenty brave souls turned out for an evening of fun playing hide and seek with their arrows. Unfortunately there was total cloud cover this year which meant it got very dark very quickly and lost arrows were very difficult to spot, but even Angela's turned up later that weekend! Added to which there was a fine misty rain for most of the evening so things got a little damp. On the plus side though, there was almost no wind. We had targets set out at 30m and illuminated with floodlights powered by the trusty generator. 3 dozen arrows were shot and scored although no-one seemed to be over-bothered about who was winning. Denis Folkard supervised the barbeque and Pete Hunnisett annoyed everyone by taking photos. Finally the scores were totted up and we all retired to the barbeque to while away the rest of the evening with some well cooked food and a drink or two.
